The “Why”
In many of the communities RURO serves, children and adults face significant barriers to healthcare. The cost of treatment, limited access to doctors and specialists, transportation challenges, unavailable medications, and inadequate medical resources can mean that treatable illnesses go untreated and serious conditions are discovered too late.
We bridge this gap by bringing essential healthcare directly to those in need through community clinics led by qualified medical professionals. From basic evaluations, health screenings, and medication distribution to referrals for advanced treatment, we combine practical medical aid with community education. Rooted in holistic care, every outreach offers prayer, emotional support, and spiritual encouragement to vulnerable children, women, and families.
How you can get involved
We cannot guarantee every person access to the level of medical care Caleb received, but our desire is to help close that gap wherever we can — to bring doctors, medications, screenings, treatment, education, referrals, and compassionate care to children and adults who might otherwise go without it.

Caleb’s Heart
This mission is deeply personal to our Founders’ family.
Caleb was born in Uganda and spent his early life as an orphan. Years later, he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, an aggressive form of bone cancer. During his five-year battle with cancer, Caleb had access to extraordinary doctors, specialists, medications, surgeries, treatments, and supportive care. We have often thought about how different his journey might have been had he remained a vulnerable child in Uganda without access to those resources.
This is why Caleb’s Heart Foundation exists. Caleb had access to medical care because of where his life eventually took him — not because every child born where he was born has the same opportunity. We want to help change that.
Our hope is that through community clinics, partnerships with local medical professionals, medications, screenings, referrals, and future healthcare initiatives, more children and adults will have access to care that would otherwise be beyond their reach.
Caleb’s five-year cancer journey taught us the immeasurable value of good medical care. His legacy now compels us to help extend that care to others.
